Would Lawson be interested in entering into a courtship with a 28yr old Anglican from Australia? :)

Dear Mrs. Bates,
I’d like to thank you very much for your latest update. It sure was a delight to go through these pictures. It’s so nice to see such godly, young, healthy men to enjoy their free time outdoors. Them enjoying nature, good fellowship in the bloom of their youth certainly was a feast to the eye.
Yes, indeed; boys will be boys. Our Lord sure has blessed your eldest sons with outstanding health as it appears in these pictures. It was ever so pleasing to the eye to see the power of youth blast like dynamite.
We have heard so much about your family’s tree business. I think it would be such a great example for our godly youth if you could posts us some men-at-work pictures. Your hardworking and manful sons are such a good example for young men out there. They work hard, play hard and pray hard. This is exactly what every young Christian men should be like. You have done an excellent job raising them.
May our Lord never discontinue to bless your sons with great health, strength and appeal.
Sincerely in Christ,
Nessa

Could I suggest a Bates Family calendar? The photo of Nathan and Lawson standing together looks like the cover of an album. You have a very nice looking group of kids. Does your family have a work out regimen. I’ve been trying to tone my muscles for a long time. How does your family stay in such great shape?

Dear Deb,
The kids have all been active, but I need to join them…lol! Love, Kelly

Wow that looks like a lot of fun! However, I’m sure it wasn’t as fun to wash the muddy clothes afterwards!(:

Mud does wonders for the skin. Looks like Nathan knew that beauty tip and the mud appears to be treating him well.

Oh my, I have all of this to come, my 2 daughters 7 and 5 like to stay tidy, have tea parties and have always been happy sitting pretty, but I have 2 boys now, Noah is only 14 weeks so is not into much apart from the obvious (nursing, sleeping and big gummy smiles) but Oliver is almost 3…and he loves to be outside, playing, rolling around in mud, the dirtier and the grubbier he gets, he says that it’s been ‘great fun today’ I struggle to keep on top of stain removal with him, so lets pray Noah and any other little ones we are blessed with, are a little more dirt conscious!! Lol

So lovely to read another update from you : )

This reminds me so much of when I was a teenager! I grew up in Michigan and driving our wheelers, riding dirt bikes, and getting super dirty and muddy was par for course on weekends :) Oh, to be young (as in, like 21ish) again and not care about the incredible amounts of mud in my hair…

Kelly,
Unrelated to this blog post, we came to visit you all at church this Sunday (we are now working in Clinton) but noone was at the hotel! Just wondering where you all are meeting now so we can come visit again. Thanks!

Dear Kari,
I’m so sorry! I posted on our website that we would be meeting at the Museum of Appalachia this past Sunday am. Occasionally the motel books the conference room to another group. Zach stayed behind to redirect guests to the museum, but he must have missed you. If we ever change locations, we announce it at church and on the website. Hope you’ll visit again! Love, Kelly

That picture of Nathan driving through the mud is an excellent “action-shot”! Nice job, to whomever took the pics! My little brother used to do a lot of 4-wheeling with his buddies and they would come home all muddy like this.
Who is on laundry duty this week??! The boys should be extra nice to him/her, haha!!

Kelly June 5, 2013 at 8:00 pm

Dear Molly,
Hmmm…well, I’ve been laundry this month and thanks to spray n wash, they actually came clean…lol!!! Love, Kelly

Molly June 6, 2013 at 6:03 pm

Good deal!! :) Sometimes I’d just let the clothes soak in hot, soapy water for a bit before washing and it did the trick pretty well too. My mom made the boys wear grey, black, or brown socks (no white socks) because they just always got so dirty, haha! :)

Hello,
My name is Luba! I am a 16 year old girl.. I would like to write (be pen pals) to Tori or Carlin.. I’d that possible? I mean..would they answer??? Like could they??? Thank you, soo much! God bless!

Kelly June 5, 2013 at 8:27 pm

Dear Luba,
You’re welcome to write, but we don’t make any commitments about being pen pals. I’m sorry, but our schedules are busy. They are allowed to write whomever they choose, but they often stay too busy to keep up with returning letters. Love, Kelly

Dear Brenda,
Most of the pics were taken by Andrew or Lawson. They were edited by Andrew. I’m no good at photography myself! Love, Kelly

Hey Mrs Bates,
This post is so funny. It’s great to be able to have fun with family. I just have a question out of my own curiousity, my family really enjoyed your show. Are we going to be seeing your show anymore? That may details in which you can’t tell and I totally understand lol. Thank you so much for your families example of a Christ- centered home.

Reply

Kelly June 5, 2013 at 7:56 pm

Dear Elaine,
No one has approached us about anymore shows, so we don’t think so. Thanks for your interest, though! Love, Kelly

Mud and boys just seem to go together. My young nephews would greatly enjoy getting so dirty in mud. :)
Delighted to see another post up.

Why is Andrew called Hubert? Sounds funny!
All boys- small and big ones- love to play in the mud. Why not? Just having fun, looking like a fun- tastic day!
Greetings from Germany!

Dear Sonja,
Some how Nathan gave him that nickname a while back and it stuck! We thought it was his real name for the longest time…lol! One day we found out our Nathan had dubbed him with the name! God bless, Kelly

looks like a lot of fun!

hmmmm…. but Lawson’s looking a bit too clean in the photos! The other boys must be well-behaved because the ones I know would be more than happy to share the mud with anyone in a white t-shirt! :) LOL!

God Bless,

Looking good! Nathan seems to have put on a lot of muscle. The mudding looks like fun! We have this big ole mudhole in the town in which I live in. Hope you and your family are doing well!

Hello Mrs. Bates! I very much enjoy reading your blogs and all your family photos that you share with us. My husband and I along with our 3 sons actually live in Caryville. I was raised in Jacksboro, but my grandparents (whom are no longer living) lived in the mountains. It is such a beautiful place and I am so thankful God has blessed us with such a beautiful state to live in.

My first husband was very much into 4-wheeling and muddin’. I used to go with him! It was the BEST time, and such special memories after he passed away. I am so glad I was able to get past the icky factor and join him. We would spend hours playing and having fun…lots of great conversation. When we had our first daughter, he could not wait to go get her a 5-point harness carseat so she could go 4-wheeling in the truck with him! She was only 5 when he passed away, but at 17 (btw, she’s at Journey to the Heart right now, rode with the Query girls from NW Ar.!), she STILL remembers going out muddin’ with Daddy. So special!

Hey Kelly, Lawson’s looking a little too clean compared to the others don’t you reckon? He wouldn’t be instrested in coming to Australia so I could say hi would he? Ahaha
