PRINTING MINISTRY

by Kelly on May 15, 2011

There are two things in this world that will last forever – people and God’s Word! Any investment made in those two categories is a worthwhile investment.

Our pastor was recently stirred to contribute to a local printing ministry – Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Oliver springs, TN – that we have seen God working through in mighty ways! Mount Pisgah’s printing ministry is literally impacting lives around the world!  http://www.mountpisgahprinting.com

During our recent revival, Pastor Garvan Walls and Pastor Ben Graham from Mount Pisgah Baptist Church preached tremendous messages. We also enjoyed fellowshipping with Pastor Ben Graham and his precious family over lunch. IMG_5614

Brittani,
Zach, Erin, and I all wear contacts… but sometimes glasses are easier on a long day… We had stayed up late all week and were fixing to make the LONG journey home. The photo was a last minute addition to our many delays, but it was fun! Love, Kelly

Thank you for sharing information about this printing ministry. It is always a blessing to know about such ministries that are committed to spreading truths–there are so many errors being printed and distributed these days.

Have a blessed week! :)

Brittani,
If you’ll look under the “FAQs” tab on our web page and scroll down to the question about “What’s your daily schedule” you’ll find our daily routine. There’s been a few adjustments since I wrote that a year ago, but its very similar. Love, Kelly

Brittani,
Yes, we do all have chores. Everyone is responsible for the upkeep of their bedroom, plus one other chore. The chores are rotated on a monthly basis and are voluntarily chosen (but I try to encourage them to try new things, so they can find their favorite). Gil & I are also on the chore choosing list and we try to all work together to make it more bearable and more purposeful! We take the leftover jobs that no one particularly wanted that month! I monitor how the workload went for the month and decide if it was too hard, too easy, needed an extra partner, or needed some other readjustment. Sample chore assignments for the month: living room, dining room + spare kitchen, new kitchen + dishes, booth + stage + guest bath, cars, yard, porches, hallways + stairways, computer/schoolroom, trash, laundry, etc. So basically each person has their portion of the bedroom + one other room. Many hands make work light! (Sometimes! But also many hands make more messes!) Ha!ha! Love, Kelly

ok how do you guys do birthdays

Gil May 16, 2011 at 10:42 pm

Dear Brittani,
We LOVE celebrations and birthdays are no exception! We take the birthday child out for a day with Mom & Dad to their favorite restaurant to talk about goals for the year. We have a family time with praises and presents! Praises are given by each family member for a character quality that was noticed and an example of how it was shown. (Ex: “Carlin, I’ve noticed you have developed generosity. I’ve seen you empty your bank account on many occassions to buy gifts for others!”) Then the following day, we take the birthday child plus a few friends for an outing of their choice (ex: a restaurant, bounce house, a hike, etc.).

Wow so glad you all met Ben Graham and his family, just had his parents at our church over mother’s day weekend and they are truly a Godly family. We have known Bro. Ken and Ms Pam Graham for years, hopefully someday (if you haven’t already) will have the opportunity to meet them also. He pastors in Benton AK.

Kelly, Glad you are able to enjoy the fellowship of so many friends. In the picture I noticed Ellie with Callie-Anna’s doll. Would Ellie and Addalee like one of the baby dolls, too?

Any gratitude belongs to God, who provided us with unexpected abundance in our golden years. He called upon us to share.
